The job's profit, known before the job ends.
Custom business software for contractors, builders and trades. Quoting, job costing, site records and subcontractor management in one system, so the margin on a job is visible while you can still do something about it.
What we hear from construction and trades businesses.
Most firms know what a job made two months after it finished, when the invoices have finally landed and someone has reconciled them against a quote written on a different system. By then the next three jobs have been priced on the same assumptions.
The information to price better already exists, in timesheets, supplier invoices, variations and site photos. It is just spread across a phone, a van, an inbox and an accounts package that were never introduced to each other.
What we would build
A system that connects what you quoted to what you actually spent, on the job, while the job is still running.
- Quoting and job costing — Estimates built from your real rates, then tracked against labour, materials and plant as they land, so committed cost is visible mid-job.
- Site diaries and photo evidence — Daily records, progress photos and delays captured on a phone and attached to the job rather than lost in a camera roll.
- Subcontractors and CIS — Subcontractor records, verification, payment applications and CIS deductions handled in one place instead of three.
- Variations and snagging — Changes priced and signed off as they happen, with a snag list that closes out rather than circulating as a PDF.
- Certifications, RAMS and health and safety — Cards, tickets, method statements and risk assessments tracked per person and per site, with expiry warnings.
- Scheduling and resource planning — Who is on which site, what plant is where, and what the next four weeks look like if nothing slips.
What we would automate
The paperwork that happens after the work, which is the paperwork that gets done late.
- Quote drafting from a site visit — Notes and photos from a visit turned into a first-draft quote against your rate card, ready to price and check.
- Timesheet capture — Hours collected from the people on site with the least possible friction, and pushed into costing and payroll once.
- Supplier invoice matching — Invoices read, matched to the purchase order and the job, and queried automatically when they do not agree.
- Certification expiry — Tickets and insurances chased before someone turns up to a site they cannot legally work on.
- Progress reporting — A client-ready progress update drafted from the week's site records, for a human to approve.
- Health and safety packs — Site-specific document packs assembled from your templates rather than rebuilt for every job.
Building software for construction and trades
That is usually the first integration we build. Costing that does not reconcile with the accounts is a second set of books, and a second set of books is worse than none.
Then it will not work, and we design for that. Site input has to be faster than the thing it replaces or it does not get used. Usually that means a phone, a few taps, and no login screen at seven in the morning.
Sometimes it is, and we will say so. The question is whether the admin you are absorbing costs more per year than the system would. If it does not, buy something off the shelf.
Your First Call Is Not a Sales Pitch
We will explain exactly how the model works and give you an honest recommendation, even if that recommendation is not Adola.
